Retirement is bitter sweet

In the labradoodle world retirement may mean something different than what we dream of our retirement to be when we finally get to retire.  I dream of a day that I get to sleep in without running late, taking a vacation without questioning if it works around anyone elses schedule and being able to go anywhere during the week without taking the time off.  As a labradoodle retirement means that your dog has finished their breeding career.  Over the last year we have retired our Brenna, and recently our Daisy.  This is also Meeka’s last litter and she will be formally retired over the next couple months. We have been very lucky to find great homes for our retired girls so we will have room to continue breeding this wonderful breed.  But doing this means that you will miss something that you have grown close too.  Brenna, Daisy & Meeka will always be a big part of our breeding program and they will never be forgotten.
